Therapy for adults with ADHD, OCD, depression

Things people want to know
How do I know if I need therapy?
You don’t need a clear diagnosis to benefit from therapy. Many adults start therapy because they feel stuck. Or something in their life isn’t working. Maybe they keep running into the same patterns.
If you’re asking the question, it’s usually worth exploring.
Can therapy really help with anxiety or depression?
Yes - but not by simply giving advice.
Therapy helps you understand the underlying causes.. You can recognize patterns that maintain the problem, and develop more effective ways of responding. That’s what leads to lasting change.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is a conversation. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in and what you’ve been experiencing. We'll go over what you’re hoping to get out of therapy.
You don’t need to prepare anything in advance.
How long does therapy take?
It depends on what you’re working on.
Some people come for a shorter period to address a specific issue. Others stay longer to work through deeper patterns. We can discuss this together based on your goals. It's your choice.
Do I have to talk about everything right away?
No. You can go at a pace that feels manageable. Therapy works best when there’s enough openness to explore what matters - but that develops over time.
What if I’m not sure this is the right fit?
That’s completely normal. The initial consultation is a chance to ask questions and get a sense of how I work. You can decide whether it feels like a good fit.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Therapy is confidential, with a few legal exceptions that will be explained at the beginning of the process. If you want a detailed list of confidentiality exceptions you can find them on my Office Policies on the Forms page..
